Essentially a means of relating data that originates in your domain to the data structures maintained within CitiDirect. The ownership and access to records in an import map varies by the nature of the data. In this regard, there are two possible types of import map.
Standard
import maps: Map definitions that are publicly owned and accessible
by anyone. Standard import maps are editable.
Once edited and saved, a standard import map becomes a custom import
map. Standard
maps use the following naming scheme:
A BBBBB CCCCCCCCC DD
A=Identifies
the region
G is for Global, W is for WorldLink, or a regional code (N, A, L, C,
E)
B=File format name
C=Payment/Transaction type
D=Country Code
Custom import maps: Map definitions that are identified for a specific client and saved with a client entity ID. Custom import maps can be created from making modifications to standard import maps, or by entering new information directly.
Import maps have three major components:
Format, which determines the type of file, for example, SAP or SWIFT.
Rules, which determines how to interpret field level attributes within the given format, for example, type or size.
Criteria, which further defines settings to be applied to an import map, such as, country and currency criteria. Rules and criteria are collectively known as RuleSets.
