Rules define how each data element in an import file (source) is manipulated when it is mapped to its CitiDirect data element (target).
To specify a default value to a CitiDirect data element
On the Criteria and Rule Set Builder dialog box, select the CitiDirect data element (field) from the CitiDirect Element list box (right pane) for which you want to specify a default value.
Click Add Rule. A menu appears listing rule types.
Click Default. The Rule Dialog box appears.
In the String Value field, enter the default value that is to populate the field in the target CitiDirect file.
Click OK. The rule appears in the CitiDirect Element list box.
Note:
If a data element from the inbound data file has already been mapped to the selected element, the default value will only be used if the field in the inbound data file is empty.

Enter values specific to the selected rule type.
Click OK. The rule appears in the CitiDirect Element list box.
On the Criteria and Rule Set Builder dialog box, select the CitiDirect data element (field) from the CitiDirect Element list box (right pane) for which you want to clear a rule.
