There are two types of custom formats: Positional and Delimited. Click for instructions for creating each type of custom format.
To create delimited custom formats
On the CitiDirect navigation bar, click Maintenance, click Import Map Definition and then click Import Custom Format. The Import Custom Format Summary Form appears.
Click the Input/Modify Tab. All of your available custom formats are listed.
Click New. A menu appears.
Click Delimited. The Import Custom Format Details Form appears. Note: Required fields are identified by a red asterisk (* ).
In the Format Name field, enter a unique name for the custom format (maximum 35 characters). To copy from an existing custom format, click the Library Look-Up button and select a custom format. The details of the selected format will be loaded, except for the Format Name and Format Description.
In the Field Delimiter field, click the drop-down arrow and select a field delimiter.
In the Record Delimiter field, click the drop-down arrow and select a record delimiter.
In the Format Description field, enter a description for this custom format (maximum 70 characters).
To enter file format data element information, click New. The Details Dialog box appears. Each field is defined individually.
In the Field/Tag Name field, enter a name for the field (maximum 25 characters).
In the Type field, click the drop-down arrow, and select Integer or String.
In the Enter/View Comments field, enter any additional comments pertaining to this field that you want to include (maximum 70 characters).
Click Save. The field is added to the field list summary form and the fields in the Details Dialog box clear.
Repeat steps 10 through 13 until all fields have been added.
Click Close to close the Details Dialog box.
Review all field details and make any necessary modifications:
To edit the details of a field, select the field from the field list summary form and click Edit. The Details Dialog box appears. Make any changes and click Save, and then click Close to close the Details Dialog box.
To delete a field, select the field in the field list summary form and click Delete. A confirmation dialog box appears. Click Yes to confirm the deletion.
To change the order of a field select the field in the field list summary form and click Move Up or Move Down. Continue to click the appropriate button until the field appears in the correct order.
Click Save to save the custom format with the name specified. The Input/Modify Tab appears. The new Custom Format is listed.
Notes:
To print the Import Custom Format Details, click Print.
To return to the Import Custom Format Summary Form at any time while you are creating a custom format click Return to Summary. A Save Changes dialog box appears.
Click Yes to save the Custom Format.
Click No to return to the summary form without saving changes
Click Cancel to stay on the Import Custom Format Detail Form.
To create positional custom formats
On the CitiDirect navigation bar, click Maintenance, click Import Map Definition and then click Import Custom Format. The Import Custom Format Summary Form appears.

Click Positional. The Import Custom Format Details Form appears.
In the Format Name field, enter a unique name for the custom format (maximum 35 characters). To copy from an existing custom format, click the Library Look-Up button and select a custom format. The details of the selected format will be loaded, except for the Format Name and Format Description.
In the Record Delimiter field, click the drop-down arrow and select a record delimiter.
In the Format Description field, enter a description for this custom format (maximum 70 characters).

In the Offset field, enter the field offset (maximum 9 numerical characters).
In the Length field, enter the field length (maximum 9 numerical characters).
In the Field/Tag Name field, enter a name for the field (maximum 25 characters).
In the Type field, click the drop-down arrow, and select Integer or String.
In the Enter/View Comments field, enter any additional comments pertaining to this field that you want to include (maximum 70 characters).
Click Submit to add the field to the list. The field is added to the field list summary form and the fields in the Details Dialog box clear.
Repeat steps 8 through 14 until all fields have been added.
Click Cancel to close the Details Dialog box.
Review all field details and make any necessary modifications:
To edit the details of a field, select the field from the field list summary form and click Edit. The Details Dialog box appears. Make any changes and click Submit, and then click Cancel to close the Details Dialog box.
To delete a field, select the field in the field list summary form and click Delete. A confirmation dialog box appears. Click Yes to confirm the deletion.
To change the order of a field select the field in the field list summary form and click Move Up or Move Down. Continue to click the appropriate button until the field appears in the correct order.
Click Save to save the custom format with the name specified. The Input/Modify Tab appears. The new Custom Format is listed.
Notes:

To return to the Import Custom Format Summary Form at any time while you are creating a custom format click Return to Summary. A Save Changes dialog box appears.
Click Yes to save the Custom Format.
Click No to return to the summary form without saving changes
