Use operators to specify how search criteria are to be applied. The operators available for each field are dependent upon the nature of the field.
Contains: Select "Contains" when you know part of what you want to find. All records that contain the specified value anywhere in that field are found.
Equals: Select "Equals" when you know exactly what you want to find. For example, if you know the Transaction Reference Number, select "Equals" and enter that number. Only records containing that Transaction Reference Number are found.
Starts With: Select "starts with" when you know the beginning of the information you want to find. For example, select the "starts with" operator and enter the first few digits of an account number to find records for any account numbers beginning with the value entered.
Is Not Equal: Select "Is not equal" to find all records that contain any value in that field other than the value specified. For example, if you want to find all records for every Branch except Branch 600, select the "Is not equal" operator and enter 600 in the Branch field.
Numeric and Date Operators: When specifying search criteria for numeric fields (amounts, dates, etc.), records are found based on whether they contain data that is between a pair of values.
If you do not specify criteria for one end of the range, that end of the range is open. For example, if you want to find transactions in amounts of $50,000 or more, enter $50,000 in the "From" field and leave the "To" field blank.
If you enter the same value for both ends of the range, only records with that exact value are found. For example, if you want to find records with a specific statement date, enter that date in both the "From" and "To" fields.
If you enter a "From" and "To" date, you will find all records that fall within that range. For example, if want to find account balances with statement dates that fall within a specific date range, enter the beginning date in the "From" field and the ending date in the "To" field.
