Preformats are used as a convenience in preparing repetitive payment transactions. Selecting Submit and Create Preformat submits the current payment for processing and also results in the creation of a new preformat. Once a preformat is authorized, it is available for unlimited access and use.
From the Payments Detail Form, complete all relevant fields for the selected payment method.
Click Submit and Create Preformat. The Save Preformat dialog box appears.
In the Preformat Type field, click the drop-down arrow and select one of the following preformat types:
Full - Limited Modifications. All payment data is completely validated before it is saved in the Preformat Library. Once a Full - Limited Modifications Preformat is available for use, the Amount, Payment Details, and Value Date fields may be modified for each new payment transaction.
Predefined Beneficiary. All beneficiary-related data fields are validated before a Predefined Beneficiary Preformat is saved in the Preformat Library. Once a Predefined Beneficiary Preformat is available for use, all beneficiary fields are locked and cannot modified when creating a new payment transaction.
Fully Modifiable Template. All fields related to the selected payment method are validated before a Template Preformat is saved in the Preformat Library. Once a Fully Modifiable Template Preformat is available for use, all fields may be modified when creating a new payment transaction.
In the Preformat Code field, enter a code for this preformat. This field is required.
In the Preformat Group field, click the Library Look-Up button and select a preformat group from the Library Look-Up dialog box. This field is required. Note: Preformat groups are defined in the Preformat Group Library. Click here for more information on creating preformat groups.
In the Save Amount field, click the check box to indicate that you want to save the amount with this preformat. This is for Full Preformats only.
In the Save Payment Details field, click the check box to indicate that you want to save the payment details with this preformat. This is for Full - Limited Modifications Preformats only.
Click Submit to submit the payment for validation processing and save the preformat in the Preformat Library.
Notes:
Once validated, the Payment moves to the next step in the payments process as specified by Flow Control requirements for payment transactions.
Based on Flow Control requirements for the Preformat Library, a new preformat may require further authorization before it is active and available for use.
Preformats saved via the Payment Detail Form contain all details for the selected Payment Method.
Preformats may also be added and/or maintained directly in the Preformat Library using the Libraries Service Class, available in the Maintenance category on the navigation bar.
To cancel the process and return to the Payments Detail Form, click Cancel.
