Do I need a Web server SSL certificate and a personal digital certificate to use AFRD?
A Web server SSL certificate is installed and configured on the Web server itself. The Web server SSL certificate enables the Web server to perform secure communications (Secure HTTP on Port 443) over the Internet. This is a requirement for all AFRD events.

A personal digital certificate is used for file cryptography. It enables a payments file to be encrypted and signed or an export file to be decrypted and signature verified. The personal digital certificate is used in combination with a customized application that performs the encryption/decryption action on the payments/export file.
