To create a new direct debit mandate for Hong Kong

In Hong Kong, a Direct Debit Mandate is also referred to as a Direct Debit Application (DDA).  Mandates are prior authorization from a payer for a Direct Debit Instruction (Deduction Instruction) to debit their account.  Direct Debit Mandates are used to validate Direct Debit Instructions.

  1. On the CitiDirect navigation bar, click Maintenance, and then click Direct Debit Mandate.  The Direct Debit Mandate Summary Form appears.

  2. On the Input/Modify Tab, click New.  The New Mandate Header appears.

  3. In the Credit Account Number field, click the Library Look-Up button and select an account number.  The Credit Account Currency field is automatically populated based on the credit account number selected.

  4. In the Mandate Type field, click the drop-down arrow and select Standard.

  5. Click OK.  The Direct Debit Mandate Detail Form appears.  Note: Required fields are identified by a red asterisk ( * ).

  6. In the Client Code field, click the Library Look-Up button and select a client code.  Note:  If only one client code is associated with the selected Credit Account Number, this field is automatically populated.

  7. In the Maximum Debit Amount field, enter the maximum amount of the transaction.

  8. In the Subscriber ID field, enter the subscriber ID.

  9. In the Payer ID field, enter the payer's ID.

  10. In the Payer Account Number field, enter an account number for the payer.

  11. In the Payer Name field, enter a name for the payer.

  12. In the Subscriber Name field, enter the name of the subscriber.

  13. In the Payer Bank Code field, click the Library Look-Up button and select a bank code.  The Payer Bank field is automatically populated based on the selected bank code.

  14. In the Subscriber Address field, enter the subscriber address.  To view all information in this field, click the multiple line button.

  15. In the Mandate Expiration Date field, use the date spinner or calendar to enter  an expiration date for this mandate.

  16. In the Standing Instruction check box, check the box to indicate if this mandate should create a standing instruction.  Note:  This field is not available if you are a "Self-Supporting" customer.

  17. Click Save to save the data you have entered without submitting the mandate for validation.  The mandate appears on the Input/Modify Tab with a status of "Input."

    Click Submit.  The data is validated and the mandate moves to the next step in the process, as defined by Flow Control requirements.
