To create a new import profile

When creating a new import profile, first you specify profile details and apply security and error processing settings.  Once created, import profiles must be submitted, tested, and authorized before they can be run to import data into CitiDirect.

  1. On the CitiDirect navigation bar, click Maintenance, and then click Import Profile.  The Import Profile Summary Form appears.

  2. Click the Input/Modify Tab.  All available Import Profiles are listed.

  3. Click New.  A blank Import Profile Detail Form appears.  Note:  Required fields are identified by a red asterisk ( * ).

  4. In the Profile Name field, enter a unique name for the import profile (maximum 20 characters).  Note:  If you would like to copy the structure of an existing import profile, click the Library Look-Up button and select a profile.  Once the profile is selected, all related details except the profile name and description appear on the Import Profile Detail Form.

  5. In the Profile Description field, enter a description of the import profile (maximum 70 characters).

  6. To associate Import Maps with the import profile, you may need to do one or more of the following:

The File Error Processing field defaults to Send Errors To Repair for new profiles.  If you want to change the default, click the drop-down arrow and select Abort All On Error or Abort All On Threshold.   Note:  If Abort All On Threshold is selected, the you must enter the maximum number of allowable processing errors in the Error Threshold field.

  8. The Encoding Set field defaults to Existing Format-level Code Page.  To select a local language code set to be supported, click the drop-down arrow and select a language code set.

  9. Select the check box for Restricted Profile to create a restricted import profile.

  10. Security and input file options can be set for Automated and/or In-Session imports.  Note:  All import profiles must have In-Session Profile Parameters.  Without these parameters, no testing can be done.

  11. In the File Location field, enter the path and name that specifies the location of the data file you want to import into CitiDirect.  Multiple files may be specified using wildcards.  Up to 20,000 files may be imported at a time.  Note:  If you are unsure of the path, you can use the Browse hyperlink to find the file/directory.  Click here for instructions on using the browse link.

  12. The Security Method field defaults to None for new profiles.  If you want to change the default, click the drop-down arrow and select S/MIME or CRC.  Note:  If you select CRC as the security method, click Set CRC Password to access the Import Profile Security Configuration dialog and enter the appropriate security information.

  13. To set options for Automated imports, click the Library Look-Up button in the Delivery Option field, and select a delivery option.  Delivery options must be previously defined in the Delivery Options Library.  Note:  The Security Method field for Automated Profile Parameters is always S/MIME.

  14. To set options for the Import Log, click the Library Look-Up button in the Delivery Option field and select a Delivery Option.  Select the check box for View Log Indicator to have this report available for in-session viewing.

  15. Click Submit to save the import profile and submit it for testing.  The Input/Modify Tab appears and the import profile status is now "Test Required."  Click here for more information on testing import profiles.
