To create a new import map

When creating a new import map, first you specify map details and apply Rule Sets.  Once submitted and active, an import map is associated with an import profile, which must be tested before it can be used to import files.

  1. On the CitiDirect navigation bar, click Maintenance, and then click Import Map Management.  The Import Map Management Summary Form appears.

  2. Click the Input/Modify Tab.  All import maps with a status of "Input" or "Active" are listed.

  3. Click New.  The Import Map Management Detail Form appears.  Note:  Required fields are identified by a red asterisk ( * ).

  4. In the Map Name field, enter a unique name for the import map (maximum 20 characters).  Note:  If you would like to copy the structure of an existing import map, click the Library Look-Up button and select a map.  Once the map is selected, all related details, except the map name and description, appear on the Import Map Detail Form.

  5. The Version Number field is automatically populated by CitiDirect.

  6. In the Map Description field, enter a description for the import map (maximum 70 characters).

  7. In the Business Service field, click the drop-down arrow and select the appropriate business service.  If you change the selection, a Message box appears warning you that it will clear the Format, and all Rule Sets associated with that format.

  8. In the Format field, click the Library Look-Up button and select a file format.  This list will contain all of your custom formats, as well as the standard formats that CitiDirect supports.

Note:  If the Library List does not contain a suitable format, you must create a custom format.  Click the Define Custom Format hyperlink.  A Save Changes dialog box appears.  Click No to cancel this process.  The Import Custom Format Summary Form appears.  You cannot return directly to the import map you are creating.  Click here for information on creating custom formats.

  9. In the Region of Ownership field, click the drop-down arrow and select a region for the map.

  10. To associate Rule Sets with the import map, you may need to do one or more of the following:
