ACH Credit/GIRO:  WorldLink®

An ACH Credit is a payment to a beneficiary using a local ACH member bank.

  1. To access Payments, click Payments on the CitiDirect navigation bar and select any link to the process tabs, such as Modify.  The Payments Summary Form appears.  Click New and select New Outgoing Payment.  The Payments Detail Form appears.  Note:  Required fields are identified by a red asterisk ( * ).

To access Payments, click Payments on the CitiDirect navigation bar and select Input New Outgoing.   The Payments Detail Form appears.  Note:  Required fields are identified by a red asterisk ( * ).

  1. The Preformat Code field should be left blank when creating a payment from Full Detail.  Note:  If you are going to Submit and Create Preformat, information is required in this field.

  2. The Debit Account Number/Currency/Name field defaults to Client Preference settings.  If you have more than one Citibank account and you want to debit a different account, click the Library Look-Up button and select another account number.   All related fields are automatically populated.

  3. In the Payment Currency/Amount fields, the currency code defaults to Client Configuration settings.  If you want to change it, click the Library Look-Up button and select a different currency code.  Enter the amount of the payment in that currency.

  4. In the Payment Method field, click the Library Look-Up button and select ACH Credit/GIRO.  Fields specific to ACH Credit/GIRO payments appear in the lower portion of the Payments Detail Form.

  5. In the Payment Type field, click the Library Look-Up button and select a payment type.  Note:  Based on the specified currency and the Debit Account Branch, CitiDirect automatically determines exactly which payment types are available.

  6. In the Subsidiary Identifier/Name fields, click the Library Look-Up button and select a subsidiary from the Subsidiary Identifier Library.  Note:  These fields are only available if the Subsidiary Identifier in Client Preference is set to Yes.

  7. In the Transaction Reference Number field, enter the transaction reference number.  Note:  A complete or partial Transaction Reference Number may be system-generated if specified in Client Preferences.

  8. The Confidential field is available if selected in My Preferences.  If you want to indicate that this is a confidential payment, select this check box.  Note:  Access to confidential payments is determined by your Access Profile.

  9. In the Clearing Country Code/Name field, click the Library Look-Up button and select a clearing country code.  This field is required if Payment Currency is EUR.

  10. The Company Name/Address field defaults to Client Preference settings.  If you want to change the default, click the Library Look-Up button and select a company name/address.  To view all information in this field, click the multiple line button.

  11. The Equivalent Currency/Amount field defaults to the value entered in the Debit Account Currency field in the Payment Method Selection Form.

  12. The Ordering Party ID Type/ID field defaults to Client Preference settings.  This field defaults to /ACCT/ if it is not set in Client Preferences.  If you want to overwrite the default, click the Library Look-Up button and select an ordering party ID type and enter an ID.

  13. The Ordering Party Name/Address field defaults to Client Preference settings.  If you want to change the default, click the Library Look-Up button and select an ordering party.  To view all information in this field, click the multiple line button.

  14. In the Transaction Type field, click the drop-down arrow and select a transaction type.  The following ACH transaction types are available:

  15. The Value Date field defaults to the processing date, plus one business day.

  16. Select the Pre-Note field to specify that this payment is a pre-note (zero dollar payment).  Note:  Once a transaction has been pre-noted, six business days must elapse before sending a value transaction (greater than zero dollars).  Note:  This field is only available in the US.

  17. In the Beneficiary Account Number field, enter the account number associated with the beneficiary.  Click here for more information on beneficiary account number validation.

  18. In the Account Indicator field, use the drop-down arrow to select whether the account is Checking or Savings.  Note:  This field is only available in the US.

  19. In the Beneficiary Name field, click the Library Look-Up button and select the name of the beneficiary.

  20. The Beneficiary Country Code/Name field is automatically populated, based on first 2 digits of the currency code.  Note:  This field is not available if Payment Currency is EUR.

  21. Enter the Beneficiary's address in the Beneficiary Address 1, Beneficiary Address 2, and Beneficiary Address 3 fields.

  22. In the Beneficiary Bank Name/Address field, click the Library Look-Up button and select a bank name or manually enter a bank name.  To view all information in this field, click the multiple line button.  Beneficiary Bank Address is automatically populated when Beneficiary Bank Name is filled using the library.  If the field is not filled or you want to overwrite it, enter a name/address.

  23. The Beneficiary Bank Routing Code field is automatically populated when Beneficiary Bank Name/Address is filled using the bank library.  If the field is not filled or you want to overwrite it, click the Library Look-Up button and select a routing code or manually enter a routing code.

  24. In the Payment Details field, enter any additional details you want to include with the payment.  To view all information in this field, click the multiple line button.

  25. In the KID Code field, enter the Customer ID for Norway.  Note:  This field is only available in Norway.

  26. In the Memo Details field, enter information you would like to append to the payment for view by other users.  To view all information in this field, click the multiple line button.  Note:  Memo details are not carried in the payment instruction message that is sent to the back-end system for processing.

  27. In the Customer Reference Number field, enter any internal number that refers to this cheque.

  28. The Charges Indicator field defaults to Client Configuration settings.  If you want to change the default, click the drop-down arrow and elect Our, Beneficiary, or Shared.

  29. If  data is required by the central bank, the Central Bank Reporting Form hyperlink will be available.  Click on the Central Bank Reporting Form hyperlink, enter any necessary information and click Save.

  30. If you are a financial institution and Payment Type is FI for this transaction, then additional fields appears at this point of the form.  Click here to view these six additional fields:

    1. The Sell Rate field is populated based on the FX requirements of the payment.  

      • For payments that do not require FX, the sell rate field is automatically populated once the Company

      • For FX transactions, you must complete the Get Rates Sub-Form and select the exchange rate (Manual or OLR) for this field to be calculated.

    2. Click the Get Rates hyperlink to view the Get Rates sub-form.  You will be prompted to save the transaction before proceeding.  Click Save to save and continue with rate request.  Once the sub-form is complete, click OK to return to the payment form.  Note: Once the FX rates are submitted, this hyperlink name changes to Show Rates.

    3. The Reduce Spread hyperlink is only available for transactions that require FX.  Click the hyperlink to view the Customer Spread Reduction sub-form.

    4. The Total Fees field is automatically populated based on the Fees defined in the FI Fee library. The field shows total amount of fees that the financial institution charges the client for this transaction, including any values invoked on the Fee Adjustment Sub-form.

    5. Click on the Adjust Fees hyperlink to view the Adjust Fees sub-form and alter the amount of fees owed to the financial institution for this transaction.

    6. The Amount Due From Customer field indicates how much is owed to the financial institution is by its client.  This field is automatically calculated based on FX requirements and information entered on the previous sub-forms.

  31. Click Submit to save and submit the payment for validation.  The payment moves to the next step in the payment process as defined by Flow Control requirements.

Click Submit and Create Preformat to submit the payment for validation and save the payment information as a preformat.  Both the payment and the preformat move to the next step in their respective processes, as defined by Flow Control requirements.  Note:  If the Pre-Note check box was selected, you must create a full preformat.
