On the CitiDirect navigation bar, click Trade Services. The Trade Services Summary Form appears.
Click the Input/Modify Tab. A list of all transactions with an "Input" or "Invalid" status appear.
Click New. A Details Dialog box appears.
In the Transaction Initiator field, click the Library Look-Up button and select a Transaction Initiator from the Trade Initiator Library. The Base Number and Name fields are populated. Note: A Trade Initiator is a unique identity that is used to ensure that transactions are routed to the correct processing location. Citibank populates the Trade Initiator Library during the activation process.
In the Transaction Type field, click the Library Look-Up button and select a transaction type. Note: This list is limited to transaction types to which the trade initiator is entitled.
In the Creation Method field, select either Copy Transaction, Create New, or Create from Preformat. The ability to create transactions from preformats is not applicable to amendments. Note: If Bill Discount is selected, this field defaults to Create New. For more information as to how to request a Bill Discount, click here.
If Copy Transaction is selected, a reference number field for the selected transaction type appears. For example, if the transaction type is Export Transfer LC, a Customer LC Reference field appears; or if the transaction type is Documentary Collection, a Drawer's Reference Number field appears. Click the Library Look-Up button and select the reference number of the transaction you want to copy. Only transactions with a Released, CB Accepted, or CB Processed status may be copied.
If Create New is selected the transaction type appears in the create new field. Note: If the transaction type is Import LC issuance, a Template Code field appears. If you have specified a default (preferred) input template for LC Issuance transactions, CitiDirect automatically displays your preferred custom input template when you are creating a new LC Issuance transaction; however, you can always select the CitiDirect default template or another template from your Custom Input Template Library while working in CitiDirect. Custom Input Templates are only available if they have previously been created in the Custom Input Template Library.
If Create from Preformat is selected, a Library Look-Up dialog box containing all available preformats appears. Click the Library Look-Up button and select a Preformat Code/Description from the library. Note: Preformats are stored in the Preformat library. The Preformat option is not available for the Standby Letter of Credit Application or Amendment.
Click OK. The detail form for the selected transaction type appears. Click on a transaction type below for procedures for creating a new transaction:
